Nel canile di Castelnuovo di Sotto,(RE),convenzionato con il Comune di Monterotondo,sono ospitati a vita quasi cento cani catturati negli anni nel territorio di Monterotondo (Roma).Alcuni di questi sono sicuramente di proprietà.
Cani che,probabilmente,dopo essere fuggiti dal luogo di residenza,sono stati accalappiati dai servizi vet della asl,e poi non più cercati dai rispettivi proprietari.Altri sono destinati alla reclusione a vita.Il comune paga per questi cani una retta giornaliera alla società che gestisce il canile,con un ovvio profitto per quest'ultima.
Questi fondi potrebbero essere facilmente utilizzati per combattere il randagismo di oggi e di domani,se solo quei poveri animali trovassero una famiglia che li adotti. Questa è una campagna nazionale per ridare la casa a quei cani che sono fuggiti e per trovarne una a coloro che,pur essendo "adottabilissimi"hanno scarsissime opportunità di uscire dal canile.
